QSC KC12 and L Class in action at Popronde
Popronde and QSC have become a familiar combination in our region. For many years, Schaekens Licht Geluid Video has been using QSC systems at various venues during the travelling music festival. This year, Audio Solvation was able to add something new to the mix. For the Heerlen and Sittard editions, we provided Schaekens with two different QSC systems to use during the performances. This gave them the opportunity not only to listen to the systems during a regular demo, but more importantly to experience them where it really matters: in real-world conditions, with different artists, venues and styles of music.
QSC KC12: a compact system in real-world use
One of the systems Schaekens used during Popronde was the QSC KC12. This active 3-way column loudspeaker system combines a compact form factor and easy deployment with the performance required for professional live sound applications.
During Popronde Sittard, the KC12 was used at an indoor venue with an outdoor stage operating simultaneously just outside. A challenging situation for the sound engineer, but also an interesting real-world test for the system. Sound engineer Paul Janssen of Sonic Design Solutions shared his experience afterwards and was impressed by both the KC12 and the system's ease of use.
Schaekens also reported receiving many positive reactions to the QSC systems throughout the different productions. And that is exactly what a real-world test like this is all about: not simply listening to a system in a controlled environment, but actually working with it in situations that cannot always be predicted in advance.
QSC L Class LA108 and LS118
In addition to the KC12, Audio Solvation also provided a QSC L Class system featuring LA108 active line array loudspeakers and LS118 active subwoofers. This allowed Schaekens to deploy and evaluate L Class during real live productions as well.
The combination of QSC LA108 and LS118 provides a scalable solution for live sound applications where greater throw, sound pressure levels and low-frequency performance are required, while keeping the system compact and practical to deploy.
The L Class system also received positive feedback from Schaekens and the users involved. Popronde therefore provided the perfect opportunity to put two different current QSC concepts to work side by side: the compact QSC KC12 and the scalable QSC L Class LA108/LS118 system.
Supporting demos and new musical talent
For us, a collaboration like this brings together two things we strongly believe in. Schaekens gets the opportunity to thoroughly test new QSC systems during real productions, while Audio Solvation can also contribute to Popronde and support the development of emerging musical talent in the Netherlands.
